Robert Smith has demonstrated his passion for teaching and playing for over Thirty Years! His skills demonstrated in teaching have awarded him the honor of Top 25 Elite Teachers of Northern CA, Southern Oregon, and Northern Nevada. Robert's teaching career spans over 75,000 career lessons to golfers of all ability levels. Fueling his experience, Robert's prior employment included the Dave Pelz Academy, Arnold Palmer Golf Academy, and at the PGA Headquarters for Learning and Performance.

Goal setting, physical fitness, proper equipment, aligning his teaching material with his student’s physical body style, mental characteristics and gender is the criteria Robert considers when designing a successful physical and mental improvement formula. Robert continues to pursue new and innovative performance enhancement techniques.

Assistant Golf Professional

Don started playing golf at the age of 13 and was hooked from the start. He turned teaching Professional after receiving a diploma in Golf Complex Operations and Management from the San Diego Golf Academy. This is where Don received his instruction, club fitting and player credentials. Prior to joining Cherry Island in 2006, Don worked for Copeland Sports as the Golf Department Manager / golf Professional for over eight years. Dons teaching philosophy is always keep it simple, precise and easy to follow for any type of player. Dons enjoys coaching his son in youth basketball and baseball. He also likes all kinds of outdoor activities such as fishing, camping and walking his dog shadow. Don lives in Natomas California with his wife Tracy and their son Jack
